Don't Fall for a Scam

Distressed homeowners who are having trouble meeting monthly mortgage payments may fall prey to unscrupulous scammers who are counting on a quick and desperate decision. But homeowners should be very cautious about so-called "foreclosure rescue companies" who promise to help stop a foreclosure. The Federal Trade Commission has produced resources in English and Spanish to help homeowners recognize scams.
